Individual counseling is provided for those that are suffering from depression, anxiety/stress, life changes, trauma, grief, or just seeking help to cope with life stressors. We utilize evidenced based techniques from CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, and many more individualized techniques to fit the needs of our clients. We strive to help our clients improve their overall well being no matter what they may be facing.

Genesis provides couples pre-marital or post-marital counseling on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Our services are tailored to fit the needs of brand-new couples or for those that have experienced life experiences and have the desire to continue their union. As well, we offer counseling for the whole family. The family is a system, and a successful family relies on all parts of the system to function in a healthy manner. We provide couples and families with the tools to communicate in a healthy manner, experience healthy emotional expression within the relationship/family, navigate strains from everyday life, and create a life full of shared meaning. We utilize many techniques from models that include Integrated Couples Behavior Therapy, Bowen Family Systems, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, and several other techniques from other family system/couple’s therapeutic models.

Our Saraland location offers an Outpatient Treatment Program which is a minimal level program consisting of 1-8 hours per week of services including individual therapy, peer support services, group therapy and family therapy sessions. It is designed for individuals who meet the criteria for substance use disorder and in some cases, may be the appropriate starting point for individuals committed to their recovery. The program may also be appropriate for individuals whose progress in a more intensive program warrants a step-down to a less intensive program, or individuals who are in the early stages of change and who are not yet ready to commit fully to recovery, demonstrating passive compliance or considering leaving treatment completely. In certain cases, outpatient care may be used to help clients stay committed to treatment even though the individual requires greater intensity of services.

Our Fairhope location offers an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program which consists of 9-18 treatment hours per week of services including individual therapy, peer support services, group therapy and family therapy sessions. This program is ideal for individuals who need more structure than weekly outpatient sessions, or are stepping down from detox or residential treatment, have stable housing and a supportive environment, and are motivated to engage in treatment without 24-hour supervision.

Genesis provides therapeutic services for children and adolescents who are struggling with behavioral issues, socializing with peers, interactions with family members, and any other problems that may impair daily functioning. We offer collaborative services that aim to improve the quality of life and experiences at home, in school, and in social situations. We focus on helping children, teens, and families develop the skills necessary to manage youth’s behavioral needs in a positive manner.
05.
A SAMHSA approved, evidence based practice for anger management that utilizes a cognitive behavioral group treatment method. The model is a combined CBT approach that employs relaxation, cognitive, and communication skills for participants to be able to develop individualized anger control plans with a variety of techniques and interventions. The program is a six week, 12 hour program that is tailored to meet the needs and goals of each individual client.

Genesis provides professional development and training to administrators, educators, human resource personnel, or to professionals seeking to better understand behaviors in the workplace. We offer on-site training in crisis intervention, understanding behaviors at work, team building, and knowledge of how to build a mentally healthy workplace/school environment. Our staff is prepared to develop a plan for whatever workplace needs that may arise at your company/school/organization.

Substance Abuse Professional (SAP)

Genesis employs a Substance Abuse Professional who is able to conduct assessments, recommendations and follow up for those persons who are employed in a safety sensitive position that is within the Department of Transportation (DOT).
